Hello Everyone
Over the years I have down loaded hundreds of Midi files ( .mid ) from this great site and others to my Yahama PSR S970 without issue. They always play on the keyboard and on Windows media player on my desktop computer.

Recently, I down loaded midi files ( .mid ) from another site which did state that the files should be played on Windows media player which they do. But they won't load nor play on my keyboard.

Can anyone help me solve this puzzle?

Could you please share the file?

This may be due to an improper byte in the header of the midi file.

My best regards,

Yes, please share one of the files that won't play on your keyboard, so we can take a look at it. Windows media player is not a good one for playing MIDIS, so I don't really understand why they state that the files are made to play on that. That may be the problem then, they are maybe not meant for the keyboard?

Thank you all for replying.
I will upload a few midi that won't load properly on my PSR S970.

The website is boemio.com.br

I have tried to upload some midi files to the site.
The attachments were rejected as .mid is not an acceptable format.
Any advice on how to get them to you?

You upload them to a sharing service (like Box.com, Google drive, Onedrive) and post the link here.

Hi Flying Cowboy,
they seem to be MP3 files and not midi files.

I don't know why they are changing the extension from .mp3 to .mid for these files.
Windows Media Player can play both the files so I guess it doesn't care much.

You can hear that these are real organs that play so it is not a midi file.
You can also hear also that is an old vinyl disc playing.

I have downloaded 5 files to box.com and posted to the PSR link at the top of the page.     https://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php?action=post;topic=57735.0;last_msg=448034

Can you give me the proper link address please.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head as I have found it hard to find .mid files <500kb which meet the PSR upload limit.
But I'd still like to upload them to the forum.

Many thanks for your reply.
