Hi all,

Sometimes, when using the software Style Unlocker v1.6, the style is not fully unlocked : some parts may keep locked.
For ex., in a style the bass track may be unlocked, in another one, it may be the chord1 and the phrase1 tracks ...
Do I miss something ?

Hi Luluc,

this is because a Style can use up to 16 MIDI channels, but in the Style Creator on the keyboard you can only see (and edit) the channels 9 - 16. (The channels 1 - 8 are routed by the Style's CASM parameters to the channels 9 - 16.)

You can use "MixMaster" to edit all MIDI channels of a Style directly:
>>> https://psrtutorial.com/MB/mixMaster.html

Or use "Style Split and Splice" if you want to edit the MIDI part of a Style in a DAW like Cubase:
>>> http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/sands/index.htm

P.S.
The current version of "Style Unlocker" is V1.7:

Chris

Overover,
You're right : my style in question uses the channels #3 to #16.
So, in this case, we can't edit some parts of the style using the Genos Style Creator. Unless it is written somewhere, it would be very helpful to add a note in Genos reference in this way.

OK, to edit the style with extra softwares.

Thks overover.

Thanks for your quick feedback, Luluc!

By the way: On Jørgen Sørensen's product page of "Style Unlocker" the following can be found:

Quote... A style can hold up to 16 source channels that are redirected in the instrument to the 8 destination channels corresponding to the accompaniment parts.

If a destination channel has only one source channel, the data is editable if flag is "yes". However, editing is not possible, if more than one channel is involved.

The only possible way to edit the style is to edit the MIDI part in a software sequencer computer program.

Before doing this, use my Style Split and Splice software program to split the style file in a "MIDI file" and a "non-MIDI file". Then edit the MIDI file in a sequencer program. And at last splice the two files to a style file.

NOTICE:
There are some un-documented feature in the keyboard OS which will not allow unlocking some style files totally or partly. This is beyond my control.

Best regards,
Chris

What if you copied and pasted that style part into another STYLE. Would it then be UNLOCKED? Or maybe put it in a style that was made from scratch?
