Changing a 4/4 Style to 3/4 Time

Hi,
I am wondering if it is possible to use the Style Creator on my Genos to change a preset style that is in 4/4 time to play in 3/4 time ?
I have a song that is in 3/4 time and the Epic Ballad style (in 4/4 time) suits the song if only I could change the time signature.
Appreciate any help with this question.

Mark, In my opinion it can't be done.

It would take more  than just changing the time signature to make a good 3/4 style from 4/4. It would be a very complete edit of all the style parts. Would probably be easier to start with a decent 3/4 style and edit that.

I often play a lead 3/4 sheet to a 4/4 style...Try it as it becomes easy after a short time.
After awhile you will find it helps improve your general timing.

I appreciate you taking the time to help me.
The song I am working on is the "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot.
The lead sheet is written in 3/4 time.
The Epic Ballad style works well with the instruments; but a 3/4 style (like the English Waltz style) really gets the timing right - but  so much else is wrong with the style for this song.
If any one has a style that works well with the song - please let me know.

I hope I have not misunderstood what Graham  has said, and I hope he will  correct me if the following is not what he meant.
My name is Yammyfan and I have collected lots of styles made by members of this Forum and often search in vain for ages, through my waltz styles to find a Style which I think goes well with a piece of music which is written as a waltz ,and end up trying out a few 4/4 Styles. If I find one which is agreeable to my ears I just play the sheet music  which is written in Waltz notation  with a 4/4  Style. I suppose the composer of the music might feel robbed [miss interpreted] and of course if I was playing with a group I would need to provide each player with a copy of the song  written in 4/4.

If your Epic Ballad 4/4 fit perfectly with your song I think  have a solution for you
Create a new style 3/4 or find a preset style with similar tempo, look to main A of EB for example and you will see, let say 4 measures.
Now make the Main A of 3/4 style to be 12 measures and copy Main A from EB; the new style is 3/4 and everything from EB is there.
If the tempo is not the same like EB you can adjust using Casper tutorial about this.

Look for a 6-8 feel style in 4-4
Slowrock is a good example it is 4-4 with triples that make 6-8 that 2x 3-4 infact double waltz

I have used Irish Dance set at 78 (it is a 4/4 style) for many years, and my audiences like it a lot - always get compliments afterwards.
It is found in the Genos TRAD&FOLK section.
It gives a wonderfully Celtic, eerie flavour to the song...sounds like the Canadian Maritimes.
Play the melody using a triplet feel...

Also, I use a Multipad file with rain & storm sounds for this and other similar songs - rain, thunder, wind...

I really appreciate all of your ideas.
Bruce, I am going to start with your style suggestion - this looks very promising.
If still not happy I will try Drake's suggestion and contact Gary Diamond for his style that he uses.
Lastly I will try either adapting the Epic Ballad style or working with a 6/8 style that has a feel for the song.
A wonderful assortment of options.

Hi Mark,

I think it can easily be done i.e. changing a 3/4 style to 4/4 and vice versa.  I do it all the time, and infact i have changed many inbuilt good 4/4 styles of Genos to 3/4 styles.

You have to go the style creator and change the Groove from 8 beat (or 16 beat) to 12 beat (or 24 beat) and then save the style.  Its done.

I don't know if there is any technical aspect to it, but I have changed many 4/4 styles like this and the modified style are great to play 6/8 or 3/4 songs.

Hi Mark,
I have one more suggestion for you if you still want to use a 3/4 style...
You could try using a style called AcousticBallad...(found on some older keyboards like my PSR2100).
The tempo should be about 180.
I used it for years before I changed to the Irish Dance...
