Efficient Use of Memory SX900

As of now in PSR SX 900  we have User,USB1,USB2 and Expansion slots .User and expansion slots are 4 and 1 GB respectively. Over a period of time with the advent of the USBs very little or perhaps no 'User' space is utilised (at least by me). Thus making the memory system inefficient. With more and more Packs being available there is certainly more memory required for the expansion slot than the just 1 GB. In Genos it has been increased to 3 GB but no pro rata increase in SX 900 has been made.
It is therefore recommended that if the total memory space is a constraint then the 'User' and 'Expansion' slots be merged to make a total of 5GB so that how much ever Expansion slot memory  is used then it will be at the cost of shrinkage of the 'User' space. Eg if Packs for expansion is 4 GB the 'User' space gets shrunk to 1GB. As a General rule the boundaries/Partitions for various memory allocations are programmable and not necessarily dependent on the hardware. Only total Memory available is hardware dependent. This is how Genos 1.8 GB for expansion has been increased to 3 GB by software update. Hence it is not difficult to achieve such reallocation of space in SX 900 by a software update so as to utilise the Memory available to the fullest extent.
For concurrence.

You can extract (or save) audio styles into a usb memory after pack-install and use it without ppi

Hi cliffordleo1965,
hi rezaazadi1361,

It is not absolutely necessary to import the downloaded Packs (.ppf) with the Audio styles into the YEM (Yamaha Expansion Manager) and then to install them on the SX900 (or Genos): Instead you can use the PC program "StyleExtractor V1.0.0.5" to extract the Audio styles directly from the .ppf files. Then just copy the Audio style files (.aus) to a USB stick and use them directly from the stick. (If desired, the Audio styles can of course also be copied from the USB stick to the SX/Genos User drive.)

To download the StyleExtractor program you can use the link in this post:

By the way, the Audio Style Packs (.ppf) can be downloaded from the Genos download site:
