This morning I watched this YouTube video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHdVGzr05zo

I liked the way this style player program worked and thought I could use it to move some things around in many of the styles I have on my hard drive and on jump drives.   I downloaded and installed that StylePlayer and ran it.   The settings I see on my screen seem to match totally what I see on the video yet with any style I open when I click on play all I hear is the rhythm beat and never any instruments.

Surely there must be some setting I have to click on to hear the music as it plays in the video.

Anyone have an answer for me?

thanks,
Larry

Why not use Style assembly on your keyboard. You can take parts from other styles to make a completely different style and it is fun to do and easy.

Eileen,

Thank you for your reply.
Since the time I put up the original post I was able to have an email exchange with Michael Bedesem who wrote the Style Player program I've been having issues with.  He points out that it is an old program written in the early 1990's  (obviously long before Windows 10 was around).  He had no answer as to how to make it work but, like yourself, suggested some newer/better alternatives.
He thinks MixMaster (or Style Dump) would get me the functionality I am seeking.

Your suggestion of Style Assembly sounds good too.  So in the next few days I plan to try one or both of those programs and give up on Style Player.

Larry

Eileen,

Correct me if I'm wrong.  Style assembly is something one finds on Tyros and Genos keyboards.  My instrument is the DGX-650 which (I'm pretty sure) doesn't offer style assembly.

I've installed MixMaster but it looks like it will be too complicated for me.

I think I may have to muddle along with Midi and Style Player to move the intros, endings, and variations around.   :(

Sorry Larry I was assuming you had an arranger keyboard.
