The best thing to do is follow the instructions on the screen.

If the error is persistent, you will need to take the keyboard to Yamaha for repair.

Cheers,

Do you have any USB drives plugged in on switch on. Remove them and see if you still get the same message. There maybe something about the stick that the keyboard dose not like. Make sure it is not corrupted.

Hi,

No USB flash disk plugged-in on switch on, no pedals, no other cables connected.

No more message appeared but the startup is stuck on yamaha logo and the keybord does not reach the main screen ...

You could try a factory reset: hold down the most right white key and turn on the power.

After a long time the machine was turned off, I tried again and it was able to go to the main screen;

But after 20 minutes of use, the keyboard crashes.

And the problem recurs.

Truth is, sending keyboard to Yamaha service is the most secure way to solve a problem. But what I would do before that is, I would try to install latest firmware again.
You said it worked for about 20 minutes, so...
Download last firmware:
https://europe.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/psr-s970/downloads.html
-needless to say you need to unzip content and copy to USB key. Then plug USB key into keyboard and turn power on.

Again, that's what I would try.. it's up to you to decide.

The keybord has already the last firmware 1.06

What I had in mind is, I would try to install (same) firmware again -if keyboard allows that.
I suspect that keyboard OS (firmware) got somehow corrupted and if that's the case, reinstalling could solve the problem. However, if there's some electro-mechanical damage, only Yamaha service can help.
That is, because of the nature of error, I can't see what else one could do. Wish you luck.

Hi Mahefa,
same error in this video but there are not auto english subtitles.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCEIBC7BIwc&t=282s

Unfortunately looks something is wrong with the electric stuff inside the keyboard and needs repair from a technician if it does it all the time.

Is it the motherboard that he is replacing in the video?
Can someone understand?

Mahefa

Hi,
I have tried to install again the firmware but this did not fix the problem.
So, it is sure that some electronic component is damaged...

Patrick

Hi Mahefa, i've had the same problem on my PSR S970, the motherboard had to be replaced after just 4 years; my first problem with a Yamaha KB and i'm not alone with this motherboard failure on the S970, all the best Patrick

Mahefa

Dear Patrick,

How much did it cost please?

Mahefa

Patrick

Hi Mahefa, here in New Caledonia it cost me 1200 US $; very expensive! much more than the price of a new PSR S970 in Indonesia and one month without the KB!
I hope you'll have some good news for your KB but for me the problem is the same on a lot of S970, cheers Patrick
:)

Mahefa

It's disappointing  :-\

Thank you for your reply Patrick,
