Song editing with SX900

Dear all,
while trying to deal with the song editor, I am in trouble everytime I need to complete
a track piece by piece.

Is there a way to just record additional phrases to an existing channel without changing
all the settings already assigned to it (voice, effect, volume etc.)?

Check the reference manual for the 'punch in and out' recording options.

Basically it means you can set the range of measures where your performance is recorded, and the rest of the track is left alone even if you are playing the keys during that part.
