How to stop ROBO calls. Every day of the past year, I had been getting 20 to 30 scammer, ROBO calls, the vast majority from India and claiming to represent the FBI, IRS, Social Security, Amazon customer service, the bank of America, Border Security, etc... Every scammer on the planet seem to be linked to a central calling center data base of phone numbers. At least that's the way it appears to me.

One night, while browsing You Tube, I came across something that claimed to be able to get rid of ROBO calls, often in 3 days or less. The idea was very easy to employ. I merely downloaded the standard telephone company message that said : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BVbyCZXc5s and put it on my telephone's answering machine. After allowing it to play two times through, then I came on an said "If you would like to leave a message, please do so after the beep."

IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM! Now, I get one call at most every 3 to 5 days. No more interrupted telephone conversations, no more interrupted football games, just peace and quiet. And, because I can see my phone's caller ID on the TV screen and telephone, I know when friends and relatives are calling. Most scammers usually display a local area code, and Name Unavailable. I rarely get a scammer call on my cellular phone because it is turned off when I am at home.

Give it a try, I think you will absolutely love the results,

For the most part, this has really worked well. Instead of 20 to 30 robo calls a day, we now get a couple a week. And, they are usually the same crap from someone in India that claims they represent Amazon and they want to charge our account for a smart phone, etc... The only reason this one gets through is because it is an instant recording that lasts nearly as long as mine and you must press a button to respond. Even these have dropped off dramatically since installing the new  answering machine message.

Give it a try - it works,

I was getting around 10 scam calls a day, all I did was to send all calls to the default answering machine message (.... leave a message after the beep) after 2 rings. Majority of calls now just hang up. Scam calls have reduced to about 2 per week - still hang up. Only issue is with political ROBO calls where on answer they go into a recorded 10 minute diatribe. The issue with your message is you can miss important calls from a number you do not know, with mine I can answer if I recognize a legit call when they are leaving a message.

There are telephones that will automatically answer the incoming call and ask the caller to identify themselves. The handset then rings and you are asked if you want to accept the call with options to accept, direct to answering machine or block, etc. This is the Australian version of it, other countries will have there own version.

My Pixel 4a does that, and I love it.  I use it for any unknown number or any local number I don't recognize.  Most of the spam calls I receive have 'spoofed' local numbers, you see.

I remember back in the day comedian Steven Wright joking that he had recorded 30 seconds of a busy signal, and put that on his answering machine.  I also remember him saying he had an irregular phone -- it had no 5 on it.  People would complain that he never called them, and he would reply "I can't call everyone I want, my phone has no 5."  "That's very weird," they'd reply.  "How long have you had it?"  "I don't know.  My calendar has no 7's!"

I, like most of us, have caller ID on my phone and because I have a bit of a photographic memory when it comes to numbers, recognize the caller's number. I also have caller ID displayed on my TV screen when a call comes in. I know when the caller is legit, which is rare these days.

I am now down to one or two calls a week instead of the 20 to 30 per day I was getting from scammers. I love the peace and quiet that I now enjoy. I was really growing weary of some person from India calling and telling me they were from Amazon, IRS, Bank Of America, Social Security, Medicare, etc... I'm just too old for that crap in my life. I think I'll try to train the cat to answer the telephone. ;)

Good luck,

I have a business line and rarely answer the phone anymore unless I see a caller ID I recognize.  The scammers use a fake local number and name to try to get me to answer the phone.  If it's a legitimate call, the caller can leave a message.  The ROBO calls are often prerecorded messages which are recorded on my answering machine which I just delete.

The emails are just a bad.
