Hi everyone,

I'm completely bewildered. I'm using macOS Ventura 13.6.1.

I just purchased a PSR-SX900 and wanted to download some new Expansion Packs from Yamaha.

I downloaded the Expansion Manager for the SX900, the latest version for my Mac ....V2.10.

I then downloaded the packs I wanted to a separate USB stick. I put my SX900 into the Expansion Manager and it shows up on the left side of the screen as my instrument.

I then tried to install the packs. The pack folder opened up (when I said Open) into 8 separate CPF files.  I then said Open for one of those files and then, when importing the Pack data, I got a messsge saying: "The Pack could not be imported because there is no instrument capable of using this Pack."

What did I do wrong???  Any help would be appreciated...thx

Did you make sure the packs you downloaded were for the SX900 and not Genos as they are the only ones that will work for you.

Eileen is correct; if there were 8 different cpf's then most likely they were for different target keyboards. You must make sure you unzip the sx900 one *only* because YEM doesn't allow 2 of the same name (ie for 2 different models) to be installed

Welcome to the PSR Tutorial Forum, RBK!

If you previously downloaded the packs from the Yamaha MusicSoft site, here's an easier option:

Click on the following link and select your keyboard model (PSR-SX900) at the top left to only display the compatible packs.
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/contents/keyboards/vse/

Click on the pack you want to open its product page. Click on the link "for PSR-SX900 click here !" to download the pack as a zip file. Unzip the zip file on your computer and import the .cpf pack file into the YEM via "My Packs > Import Pack".

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
