On my first attempt to set up my song registrations  I put 10 songs into the registrations and saved them somehow
with out a folder naming the bank POP1 (blue icon) as shown, in pic 1

I then created a second set of 10 registration songs and named it POP2
but I somehow created a folder of the same name POP2 as shown in pic 2

now my concerns are what did i do wrong as in order to see POP songs I need to open the folder POP2....
but in POP1 blue icon the songs are NOT in a folder? I hope I am making sense ...

I know it must be human error but what am I doing wrong and how can I put POP1 reg songs in a
folder now or do I need to or?

I hope I explained this properly?...any help appreciated..

Just Move registration 'POP2' from the 'POP2' folder to the USB folder 'Genos Reg & Styles'.

Then Delete the 'POP2' folder.

Then have a look here:

Frozzers .......I don't think your understanding me .....USB has nothing to do with it ...

why is pop1 not in a folder ....and pop 2 is in a folder?

let me make it simple why is POP1 NOT in a folder .....
and POP2 is in a folder that I need to make two pushes to see reg songs?.....
before I start to create the next 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc,... bank of songs  I want to make sure I am doing this right?

It's that way because of what you did.

To find out:
-- press the registration icon
-- press the File icon
-- one of the choices in this menu is New Folder

That's what you did -- you pressed the New Folder icon, and created a folder called Pop2.

So decide what folder structure you want, and create it.

If it were me, I wouldn't have subfolders. I would move the Pop2 reg file to the top, and delete the Pop2 folder.

But how you want to structure your registrations is up to you.

I'm with Fred.

I think you accidentally created the POP2 folder the first time you tried to save the bank. Then you tried again (perhaps after adding something to the bank), and this time successfully saved the bank as a file named POP2 inside that new folder.

Thank you all so much what a great forum here ...as stated human error kicked me in the butt again...
I now have sorted out the error with the folder and back on track to setting up song reg banks...

have a great day

Dnj, another good trick is if you think your registration file structure is messed up a bit on your Genos and you're afraid of losing a registration, copy the whole registration area to a USB stick inserted into your Genos, save it to your PC or Mac, and clean it up there. After you have finished, reverse the procedure to restore them to your Genos. I always back up my registration files on a regular basis. If I'm playing way out of town, I'll often bring those backups with me. You can play an entire show from registrations stored on your User (internal) drive or a USB stick.

I agree with Fred about subfolders. I never use them. Instead, I have first-level folders labeled with the artists' names with whom I play. I may also create folders for different genres of music. For example, Christmas, St. Patrick's Day, Jazz, Country, and others.
"Learn" your music correctly, then "practice" it. Don't practice mistakes because you'll learn them.

You dont need to make a lot of sub folders , with the playlist function you can make maps with div artist or genres .( saves a lot of space and searching)
