Hello all

Do you know if a tool that allows us to gather individual parts of different multi-pad, exists ?
If yes, what is it and where can I find it ?

Thank you very much

PadMaker provides tools for selecting style parts, copying them to a new multipad, and editing the voice and other characteristics. There is a version for making pads from styles or midi files available free at https://psrtutorial.com/MB/padmakermidi.html.

With the style version you can:

*Create a pad just by selecting style parts with the mouse. Only valid style parts are displayed. No typing is required.
*Audition the patterns on the computer or on your PSR/Tyros keyboard.
*Use parts from different styles.
*Edit the Voice, Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Tempo, Brightness, Transpose, Chord Follow and Repeat parameters for each pad.
*Select instrument voices for PSR 450, 550, 740, 1000, 1100, 1500, 2000, 2100, 3000, 9000, S900, S700, S910, S710, S950, S750, Tyros 1, Tyros 2, Tyros 3, Tyros4, Tyros5 and Genos.
*Include your own text messages into the pad's copyright field for acknowledging authorship, providing web links, etc.

With PadMaker-Midi you can:

*Create a pad just by selecting an area of a midi or multipad with on screen controls. No typing is required.
*Audition the pattern on your computer or on your PSR/Tyros keyboard.
*Edit an existing multipad.
*Edit the Notes, Octave, Voice, Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Tempo, Brightness, Chord Follow and Repeat parameters for each pad.
*Select instrument voices for PSR 450, 550, 740, 1000, 1100, 1500, 2000, 2100, 3000, 9000, S900, S700, S910, S710, S950, S750, Tyros 1, Tyros 2, Tyros 3, Tyros4, Tyros5, and Genos.
*Include your own text messages into the pad's copyright field for acknowledging authorship, providing web links, etc.

I succeeded with Cakewalk Sonar following Jørgen Sørensen's instruction concerning multipad format (Thank you)  but it's not directly easy.

We can also make Multi Pads from style Parts using Michael's Pad Maker program.   https://psrtutorial.com/MB/padmakerstyle.html

It seems that controllers are not copied correctly with Michael's tool.

What I do exactly is
- put the mpad files on USB.
- change .pad extension with .mid extension
- load the .mid files in Sonar with the Genos instrument file definition
- only keep the pad sequences I want to keep in the target multi pad
- add an empty track as a new first track in each files
- save .mid files

- take the first .mid
- add a new empty track as the last track
- position on the empty track
- import the second .mid file containing an empty track and the additional pad sequences
- rearrange the tracks
- repeat the same operation with all midi files

- Once all is loaded in the same sonar project, and all tracks are ordered
- affect chanel 1,2,3,4 to the 4 pad sequences
- remove the empty tracks
- save the midi file with the new target multipad name

- change the file extension (.mid=>.pad)

- load the .pad file on genos
- enter multipad creator
- rename the pads, change the 2 parameters (repeat + chord change)
- save the multipad file.

It is quite easy to mix and match Multi pads on the keyboard by copying one part of a Multi Pad to another.

Are you sure ?

On Tyros 5, I succeeded in "copying" events from one multi-pad, exiting, entering a new one, and pasting events. On Genos, the buffer content is lost when I exit the multi-pad creator.

On Genos you don't do this in the Multi Pad Creator. Just select the multi pad bank you want to copy from. Now select Multi pad edit Select which of the four you want to copy and Press Copy. Now select the bank you want to put it in and select which one of the four you want to put it in and press Paste.
Continue like this until you have made up your new bank. Then Save.
It is so much easier on Genos now.
