Cakewalk and Yamaha Styles note shifting - A Question

Hi

Recently I've started to learn how to make styles for Yamaha Keyboards on the PC and came across a wonderful set of MixMaster and Cakewalk by BandLab.
So I believe I've configured the Go To settings in the Mix Master correctly - a great idea I have to say!

It works for simple styles, however recently I've tried to use it with a more complicated style (with Sy***-es, automations, etc) and I've found that when I compare the event times of midi events in the MixMaster and those of Cakewalk in the Even Lists - in the Cakewalk they're like shifted in time - the same message appear in different ticks, in my case it was like 60 ticks, but I suppose it might vary from style to style...

I've tried to load the style into the CasmEdit to double check - it shows the same information as the Mix Master.

Has anyone faced this issue and can suggest what am I doing wrong?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help,
Mark

Hi Mark
Shifting the data position is unfortunately always present. This is an error that occurs when saving with Cakewalk. The only way is to manually move the data to the starting position each time. See an example in this video. Subtitles included.

Thanks a lot, ckobu, It took me a lot of time to reply - I wish I had more time to invest in the keyboard :)
I just wanted to inform you and other forum members that I've asked about this issue in Cakewalk's discussion forum, hopefully, they'll shed some light on it:

https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/48117-cakewalk-notes-events-shifting-issue/

Also, I was wondering (just as an idea), since it happens when we actually Save everything in the Cakewalk, maybe it's possible to provide the "synchronization" facility in the MixMaster itself (essentially a workaround for this bug)? For example, by "memorizing" the placement of the Marker SInt before opening the file in the Cakewalk, and calculating the "offset" after Cakewalk saves the file. This will allow shifting the necessary notes to the calculated offset automatically. I assume that in most cases, the user won't really delete this marker...

I understand that this question is mainly to the MixMaster creators, but hopefully, they'll see this post and express their opinion as well :)
Again thanks a lot - I'll monitor that thread in Cakewalk and will notify if I'll have any news on that from the Cakewalk side.

I found some Cakewalk settings that should prevent Cakewalk from shifting the events. See my reply on the Cakewalk Forums:
