Sy*** and DSP

I'm on the DSP / Sy*** Train Again.


I haven't been on my keyboard lately.

I wanted to confirm with you guys,
I wasn't able to save a DSP setting onto a MIDI song.


Is this because the keyboard can't or I have to activate GM via Sy*** ?

I had to Optimize GM to get it working.

But I wonder— could you give a detailed description of what you were trying to do, as well as what you did to get it working?

I don't quite understand what you mean by "save a DSP setting onto a MIDI song." Were you trying to modify an already-existing song, or were you creating a new one? What DSP settings were you trying to save, and what steps did you take that weren't working?

And what do you mean by "Optimize GM"? What steps did you have to take, and did you take them on the keyboard itself or did you use an external program?

Other members might find themselves wanting to do the same thing and run into problems as you did, so it would help them to have a detailed guide!

Norman, I had similar thoughts to Michael when I saw your post.
I'm away from home at present so no Genos to check things out with. However the way I would edit a song voice, Dsp included is given below. Hopefully it works and is different from the unspecified method you were using

Go to Multi channel midi recording and load your song that you want to edit.
Now go to Mixer and navigate to the song Voice channel you want to change. By going to Effect select the DSP you want to use for this voice.
Now Exit back to the Audio recorder. (Note Exit, do not restart it, you will lose the changes).
Save the song, but bear in mind the routine, you have to first go to start of the song, then Setup, making sure the items you want are ticked, then Execute. If you do not do all that first before saving the changes will be lost.
