hello guys, if I want to copy an individual instrument located in a pack inside the YEM to a desktop or other folder is that possible?

ckobu

It's possible. You are using the Exporting pack data option.

thanks for reply, but I would like to export (files) not the hole pack

Hi Yamahalover,

please try the following steps:

1. Select the desired Pack and mark/check only the ONE voice/instrument you want to copy.

2. Select "Export Content" to save a new .ppf Pack file (which contains only ONE voice/instrument then).

3. Make a new Pack or select an existing Pack and select "Import Content" to bring the voice/Instrument you have exported before (as .ppf Pack) into the new/existing Pack.

You can also check/mark SEVERAL voices/instruments in step 1, of course (to export them as a new .ppf Pack and import to another Pack then).

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

many thanks guys for your kind replies, my objective from copying files outside YEM is to convert them to other format, example to convert sf2 to uvn cause now am using tyros 4 which can't upload sf2, got me?

ckobu

You can not do this, extracting is possible only in ppf format.

Hi Yamahalover,

if  you have voices/instruments in .sf2 format you can use "Awave Studio" (Windows program) to convert .sf2 to .uvn/.uvd format (to use it on Tyros4).

In YEM you can NOT export voices/instruments in other formats than .ppf (as mentioned by ckobu before).

P.S.
All single Wave samples of a .ppf Pack can be found in the folder of that particular Pack inside the YEM User folder ("C:\Users\<username>\Yamaha\Expansion Manager\Packs\"). But it would be a very time consuming job to rebuild the original voices/instruments of a Pack in this way.

P.P.S.
There is also software program to extract the Waves of a (.ppf) pack:
