Hi, I lent a keyboard of mine to a friend for 3 weeks and she returned it to me a bit dirty. So I want to clean it. Could someone please give me some advice on how can I clean it? Especially what kind of cleaning liquids can I use.

Thanks in advance,
Alvaro

I only ever use warm Water and then polish off with Micro Cloth. Brings it up a treat.

Agree with Eileen. Do not use much water though, polish with a dry cloth afterwards.

Denatured alcohol is the best thing to use on the keys.

I've alwys used Pledge spray furniture polish.

...and to keep it clean in the first place, use a cover when not in use.

Here is my 2 cents:

Over the years my cleaning methods have varied. I've used dry cloths, damp cloths, and alcohol swipes.

My current favorite is to dampen a small micro cloth (the kind used for cleaning glasses), ring it out good, then wipe down the keys etc. My left hand perspires so much during performances that it results in an annoying residue. So I wipe down the keys at the end of each performance day.

Sometimes I splatter the display with saliva. I rub it with a dry cloth after first wiping it with the damp micro cloth.

My repair technician has always been impressed with how clean my various keyboards have been when brought in for repair, and emphasized that he often has to put up with gross conditions. One day he showed me a keyboard that another customer had brought in...I could have vomited upon seeing it.

Any cloth, made damp with a non-agressive liquid, will do. On the keys, I normally use window cleaner like glass-ex, for extra hygenic result.

Hi
Clean keyboard with clean damp thin kitchen cloth

Clean screen with Specsavers glasses cleaner or record cleaner spray. contains alchahol and dries quickly without smears.
I run vauum cleaner with plastic flat nozzle around keys and gap to get rid of dust. Works a treat. just be careful and light . Hold about quater inch away from keys
You often get little hairs etc on keys and skin cells.
Clean keys only with damp clean cloth. no drips!!
