Extremely low OTS voices on Tyros 5 - is that normal?

Hello friends!
Some of the OTS voices on the preset styles of my T5 are extremely low, in fact so low that I barely hear them. Is this normal? I bought it used, but I think it was factory reset, because all drives were empty. And, can I save my adjustments with balance, or do I have to do that in Style creator? Edit: Balance didn't help on the low voices, it seems they are on max!

Hm - the keyboard is not totally empty after all. I found some registration banks that I deleted. Maybe I should reset it, but I would avoid it because it may have the latest firmwere, and I may delete that. Don't know how to install again.

Yes some of the OTS settings on Tyros 5 are lower than others. I found they needed to be set to 127 to sound right with Style set at 100. Some owners therefore dropped the style volume or set the touch to Soft to get a better balance.
Personally I always prefer to set up my own registration banks where I can set the balance I want.

Or maybe the don't use much the "Touch" button so at 100 volume and lesser the sounds are loud enough.

I personally do not use OTS.   I rather use registrations, that way, i can set the volume balance (voice, VH, Style, etc) they way i like.  The registration will always remember the desired balance, no surprises.

Thank you so much Eileen, Panos and Al! I was beginning to wonder if the keyboard was faulty. Had this problem on S970 also, but in Tyros it is worse.

Also check the modulation wheel.
If it is not turned down some voices may sound faint.

Hey Toril,

Make sure the style volume slider isn't too high in relation to the R1,R2,R3 volume levels. Also make sure that Initial Touch sensitivity isn't set too high as you would need to strike the keys much harder in order to hear the sounds that you play, maybe set the sensitivity on Soft 1 or any one of the others that you feel more comfortable for your playing. I'm very certain it's not due to a faulty keyboard.
And I can also agree with you and the others that find that some of the OTS levels are very inconsistent throughout the different styles. I do not use them on a regular basis, but in the rare occasions that I've had, I also notice that. From in my experience, the faster way to balance it is reaching for the Style Volume slider and adjust it accordingly to the particular need.

Cheers.

Thank you so much Valentin! I will get the hang of it after some trial and error!😀
