I am able to add effect in song, style, mic, L, R1, R2 but I am not able to add in multipad. Is it even possible to do or do Yamaha has to release a new firmware update. My keyboard has firmware v1.06. If anyone know how to add effects in multipad I will be grateful.

DSP on multi pads isn't quite possible. There is one method which is not effective enough,

I would like to make a few things clear first, effect for the multi pads can be taken from DSP1

FIRST SELECT THE MULTIPLE THAT YOU WANT TO CHANGE
The next step , head over to functions and select multipad creator
After doing that go to step edit you can edit the Multipad.
Insert control 94 and enter the value for the DSP,
Do note this is style DSP

Hence is not quite effective

Thank you for your reply. That means no effect in multipad on psr s970. Yamaha had assigned Reverb and Chorus BLOCK for multipad, Reverb works on multipad but Chorus BLOCK doesn't work. I hope that Yamaha will fix that in next firmware update.

Hi Samson,

some (Preset) Multi Pads contain a "Chorus Send Level" event (= control 93), but many other Pads do NOT.

Please make sure (in Multi Pad Creator / tab "Edit") that there exists a "Control 93" event. (If not, you have to create one.) Then you can adjust the depth of the effect by changing the value of this event.

After that, you can also change the value of "Chorus Return Level" in the Mixing Console (Standard value is "64" here.

All possible Effect Types for the System Effect block "CHORUS" are listed in the Data List book of your Keyboard model.

Hope this helps!

P. S.
To my knowledge, it is NOT possible to use DSP 1 ("Variation effect") with Multi Pads.

And, of course, the Reverb and Chorus effect blocks can ONLY be used with MIDI Multi Pads (but NOT with Audio Link Multi Pads).

Best regards,
Chris

Thank you Norman and Chris, I found that option now Chorus BLOCK is working on my multipads.
