I've been famiiliar with Kay Starr's recordings for decades, most would recognise  her "Wheel of Fortune."

But this I  heard in the TV documentary "The War"  on PBS America shown on British Freeview TV.

I didn't know the tune, but  recognised her voice so  was able to find it as it wasn't one of the  recordings listed in the credits (or they cut the credits off before it was shown, something which often happens with programmes shown on TV).

This series has used a great number of war-time classic recordings, which really add to the  naratives.
So many men away on war duty, so many women waiting anxiously for their return, but many diidn't  come home.
The blue star displayed in their home's window, changed for a gold one. How sad.
