My Experience With the Bose S1 Pro Speaker

I want to first say I seldom if ever report anything negative about any product but I wanted to tell members about the Bose S1 Pro I purchased - and returned - and why I did not keep it.

I setup the S1 Pro with my Ketron SD7, Yamaha S975, and Dan's vArranger and the results were all the same-the keyboard used did not make a difference.  I used every available connection into the S1 pro and every available output from the keyboards and the results were still the same.  I changed the position of the S1 Pro with little or no noticeable changes in results.  I tried various adjustments on the S1 Pro but still no better results.  Well, what was the issue?  Simply put the S1 Pro produced such extreme echo and reverb in the output that the sound just did not measure up to my Bose L1 Compact.  I really wanted this to work out to save weight for my gig setups - but I am very sorry to report it just did not happen.   I even turned off the reverb setting on the S1 Pro and it did not help.  I moved the speaker around -on the floor -on a table -all kinds of positions -nothing helped.  This was a new in the box S1 Pro and I doubt there was a defect with it.

Anyway, I did give it a good try and am very disappointed it did not work out for me.

Hi Deane. That was my experience too when I tried it at the music store. I will stick to my L1 compact!

Wow I never get echo or reverb with my 2 s1 pros. You do need to turn off the tone match button and turn off reverb. My pros are richer sounding and almost as loud as my compacts. I really love both of them. the compacts are a little crisper but for the ton of smaller gigs I have, the s1's rule. maybe the internal reverb on your keyboard needs to be turned down. This puzzles me because mine are so clear. they are plugged in straight from the keyboard. No mixer one in the left and one in the right audio out jacks.
