Is it possible to change and save the default tempo of a song from the Genos Playlist? For instance, I love the Genos French Jazz  style but the default tempo is something like 232. For some songs in which the voices are great I prefer the tempo at 126. In the Genos Playlist using this style I change the tempo on reg. button 3 to 126 but when I change to another button the tempo shoots back up to 232. How can I change and save the default tempo to 126 on all numbers in the reg.? Thank you . . . Don in MI

The same way you did for R3 would be the simplest.

Re.memorize each reg, then save the bank. Should take you less than a minute.

The first thing you should do is save the French Jazz beat with the tempo 126 using the Style Creator from the Menu button so that it is now a user style. Next, from the Menu screen, touch Regist Freeze and make sure the tempo and style are checked.  Once you do those things, make sure your Freeze button is lit.  In this way, when you switch registrations or banks, the tempo and style should hold while you are playing.

It's true the tempo and style hold when using Freeze, but it also freezes the style variation, which I tend to want to change from each reg to the next. You've also got a user style which you don't really need which also runs the risk of getting lost and screwing up your registrations.

I find it's worth the time to create your registrations properly, because once done, you seldom have to change them again.

I set up my registrations for the voices so that if I switch a registration, the style and tempo continue, and I can press the style variations while I am playing so I don't know why you can't use the variations. When I save a registration, there is usually a style included, but that doesn't affect my playing because once I start the style, it stays constant until I stop playing and change the style.

Thank you Gordon and Fred, you both make sense so I'll try to do each based upon my limited computer ability. I'm really making progress with my Genos thanks to the assistance of you all on this forum. In fact, I'm down to ONE gotta have answer and that is how to default an left hand accompianment flute sound or a lush strings sound. Being an old, and I mean old organ purist I really miss that mellow sound in the left hand. Plus it hides alot of boo-boos too. Again thank you guys for coming through for me. Don in MI

I would first save a registration with the left hand sound that you want. Then, every time you turn on the Genos, press that registration first and then press the freeze button.  From there, no matter which registration you go to, that left hand sound will follow.

If you want to have multiple choices for your left hand, for example, one for strings and one for flute, then set up an additional registration with the second sound you want.  Then, if you want to easily switch between the two, turn off the freeze, select the other registration and then turn on the freeze again.

Well...

First of all, the freeze will work only if you identify what you want frozen, which in this case is the style (as the left voice is part of the Style group). But now you can't use registrations to change a style — a significant restriction for most.

And, if you don't use registrations to change styles, then why bother with the freeze?

I think you're better off to program your registrations properly. Then they'll always work for you.
