Question on making a pad from a midi

Hi Folks,
Here's what happened...
1. Played melody on the RHS of the PSR970 keyboard and recorded the midi using Cakewalk.
2. Used Padmaker midi software to change the voice and save as a .pad file
3. Moved the pad over to PSR s970

When I invoked the pad, the output played in an incorrect key.
Whether I set it follow or not-follow chords, the pad just did not match the key it was recorded in.
Any ideas why ? Thanks

Must be recorded in the key of C to start with. The keyboard then takes care it then matches what you play.
