PS-s770 worth buying in 2018?

Hi friends.
I just realized that because of the new psr-s models arrived early, the s770 and s970 suddenly had a huge drop in price and then they almost disappeared from the market.

I had not seen that the price of s770 was arround 750€ at the last days, so now it is hard to find any store that has this in stock.

My question is, do you think it is worth to buy this 2015 model for this price, or should I postponed this for yhe next year by waiting for the s775 price to drop?

Does s775 worth waiting, or the differences are not so important?

Is 750€ a good price for this keyboard? I have the impression that it's price was arround 950€ about 2-3 months ago..

Hi There, My old PSR290 (2002) stills sound as good if not better compared to recent entry level models by Yamaha. I still appreciate they key action than any recent entry level Yamaha PSRs. So you can buy the S770 even though its only two years old. 770 is an amazing piece of machine and you will definitely love it. Only missing things are vocal harmony and user memory but if you manage the former effectively you wont miss anything. I am seeing nothing in S775 which worth the wait. Good luck with your purchase.  :)

Maybe they can still order these shops the s770 and deliver it to you.
Try  to call them.
I also saw on ebay at the price of 750 euros from Italy+plus shipping to Greece(is not too much,is near)

For the price of s775 to drop next year should be released a new model but is too early for a new model after 1 year.
So the price maybe will not be redused significantly.
For the gap of 400 euros between the two models I believe the differences not worth at all.

I would say that the S770 is excellent value and if there's a big price difference, S775 is probably not worth the extra.

Emotion always comes into these decisions though, not just the cold price ...

I'm still in love with my S770... Ι had bought it about 1.050€ on November '16.
Last check on our local dealer, the price of S770 was at 738€, the S970 at 1.429€ and the S775 at 1.159€.
Nowadays, I won't be able to spend 400€ for a few changes over my S770, but I prefer to buy a S970 instead. If your budget is around ~800€ and all you want a perfect keyboard with a lot of sounds and function that keep you satisfied for another 4-5 years, then go for S770. I'm really sure that you love it and you spend a lot happy times with this kb.
If you clear you mind with this purchase take a look at Nakas Musicstore. On their sites I can't find any of Sx70 keyboards anymore, but I'm really sure they have a stock on their stores.

Hi guys, thanks for your replies.

I searched a lot, but the local stores had not even a screw of this model finally, so all the skroutz posts about 740 euros were not valid. They instead offered me the new model, but I wasn't interesting to pay 1150 euros for something so similar. Nakas didn't has this too. The answer of every store was that this model is end life product and it will not be available again.

After long search, I managed to find a piece in Germany, so I finally ordered the s770 for 777 euros, plus free shipping to Greece, so now I feel like a child that is waiting for the Santa! ;D ::) ;D

Well done.

Took the plunge myself too, as last units were being bargained. I had initial plans to purchase in summer for my son's birthday present, but got alerted by the price hike of upping to the 775.

A very limited pianist or keyboard player myself, I have been really amazed at the musical pleasure I derived from my first hours with this instrument. It vastly overwhelmed my expectations, beyond any other experiences with piano, synths, loopers, rythmbox, irealpro...

Enjoy!

I bought the s750 a year before s770 was released and I got it for 1.050.00 euros if I remember well.
So I find the price of 750-800 euros is wonderful for such an nice instrument as s770.
I don't regret in any way the euros I gave for the s750.I just love it.

Hello, I have an S770 and it is the best value for money of any keyboard. I bought mine to play out as the T4 became too heavy now. Regards, Den.

I (re)purchased a S770 yesterday brand new for about 30% off the new price. It is still, IMO, an excellent mid-level arranger. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that the display button issue has been pretty much resolved.

arvacon

I haven't notice any issue with mine about the display buttons. It was the first thing I tested when I received it, but fortunately everything seems fine.

DerekA

The latest firmware pretty much sorts out the buttons.

Still happens from time to time, but nothing like the problem it once was.
