Hi,

I try to connect my T5 with computer by USB but nothing works.
I make the good process ( turn on the Tyros while holding down music finder button at the same time), I have the good screen on T5 but there is a very long time and no connect. I have the last USB Driver from Yamaha and my OS ist "Windows 7 Ultimate"
Curiously, with Linux Ubuntu Studio , the T5 's HD is immediatly recognized !
Have you a solution for W7, because I must shut down my computer every time and go to Linux, which is on another external  HD ! And it's a little painful to be forced to change every time. A big waste of time.

Thanks for help

Two things:

1. The keyboard will give you an OK message when it detects a good connection with your PC. If you don't get an OK message, you need to check your connection (using the USB to Host port, connected to a working USB port on the computer, etc.).

2. Once you get this message, it takes about a minute for Windows to respond. Why? Don't know. It's been this way ever since the T2.

Suggest you wait longer, I used to find it can take much more than a minute for Windows to find Tyros 5.

Are you using the USB2 or Host connection? If you are using the Host connection, you will need to install the Yamaha driver in order for the keyboard to recognized.

Hi,
I have the last driver from Yamaha. It worked sometime, and sometime no. For waiting a longer time, even after 40 minutes , it doesn't connect. But I don't understand why my T5 is recognized after 2 minutes max with Linux and not with Windows 7 ! It's a mystery ! :-X

I'm using Windows 7 and my PSR-S950 is recognized within a few seconds.

Hi,
I think that my T5 does not have to love Windows 7 ! Next time, I'll work with Linux !  ;)

Hi ..
It's likely to be Windows or your Laptop/PC (or both) causing problem ..

Windows has never been a good host when using multiple USB devices.
First, try disconnecting any USB hubs and other decices notin use, reboot Windows and try again with the minimum connected USB devices. Power requirements may also restrict USB port operation.
It is possible in Windows to 'clean up' the Device Manager of old USB entries (Windows not good at this)
You can find help on web with this .. especially Windows 7. I can do it by memory, but too much to explain here!
Maybe this will help with recognition.
