Hi John,

I think that from what you describe, your S770 has reached the end of its useful life. A repair to restore it to full functionality would probably be uneconomical.

You could get a second S975 if you can find one in good condition. It's always good to have two identical keyboards. (I'm currently using 2 Genos2s  :))

Or you could get a used SX900/700 or a new SX920/720 and use your S975 as a backup.

You probably won't get much money for your S770 these days. I would just keep it. (I still have my "good old" Tyros5 and Genos1 lying around ...  ;))

I hope my thoughts help you!

Best regards,
Chris

A very nice performance, and a beautiful melody! I also have a V accordion, the little brother of yours, the FR4x. And a T5 :)

I know that volume and voices can be changed in a MIDI recording can the bass part be adjusted as the recording has too much bass.

Daryl

Hi Daryl,

There are many ways to edit MIDI files, e.g. with computer programs such as MixMaster, which Fred already mentioned, or with DAWs / Sequencer programs such as Cubase, Cakewalk, etc. But small changes such as setting Part (Channel) Volumes, exchanging Voices, or changing Effect settings can of course also be made directly on the keyboard.

To subsequently change the volume of the Pass part (channel) of a MIDI file on the Tyros5, proceed as follows:

- Load the MIDI file as usual.

- Press the Mixing Console button (multiple times if necessary) until the SONG page is displayed.

- If necessary, press the A button several times to call up the desired display page (1 - 8 or 9 - 16) where the channel you want to change the settings for is located. If you recorded a Style as a MIDI file, the Bass is usually on channel 11.

- Adjust the Bass volume for the relevant channel as desired.

Resave the MIDI file as follows:
- Open the Song Creator (CREATOR button > Song Creator > Channel tab > 5 Setup).

- On the SETUP page, make sure that the top seven check boxes are ticked (Voice - Tempo) and the bottom five check boxes are NOT ticked (Keyboard Voice - VH/Mic).

- Press the SONG STOP button to make sure the song position is at the beginning (!)

- Press EXECUTE (D button) (!)

- Press SAVE (I button) to save the changed MIDI file. Use a new/changed file name if you do not want to overwrite the original file.

- Complete!  :-)

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Dear Friends,

in view of the events that did happen worldwide this year I allow myself to quote the text of Gilbert O'Sullivan's song:

"I'm not dreaming of a white Christmas.
All I'm dreaming of the whole day long is a peaceful world.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to those of you who live in fear.
And let us hope that very soon the peace you seek will then resume. ..."

I recorded the playback 2016 manually on the Tyros 5, the rest comes directly from the V-Accordion.

Hello everyone, it's almost that time again - winter is here and I remember my recording of the Petersburg sleigh ride from 2016.

In 2016 I recorded the playback manually on the Tyros 5, the rest comes directly from the V-accordion. However, the picture and sound were recorded in two separate runs, as I also use the Tyros 5's hardware recorder to record the V-accordion and cannot take any pictures there. So I recorded it again in another room for the picture recording. So if you notice slight discrepancies between the picture and sound, that's why.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it.

Anything can be adjusted in midi. It's only a matter of how much work you're willing to go to.

I use Mixmaster, but there are other programs available.

Cheers,
Fred
