Title: Can you use an external speaker system with Yamaha dgx670?
Post by: Dnj on Oct 10, 2021, 06:49 AM
Can you use an external speaker system with Yamaha dgx670? I noticed it has only a single output on back that doubles as a headphone input also (stereo).......so can you use a stereo "Y" adapter into two external powered speakers Left/Right?

Or maybe you can BLUTOOTH the DGX670 to an external speaker?

Thank you

Avoid Bluetooth setups ( Latency reasons )

Yes, I use a 1/4 in stereo jack lead to 2 1/4in jack plugs left and right to plug into external speakers. You can also have the internal speakers turned on or off.

You can not Bluetooth to external speakers, but you can Bluetooth to the keyboard.

What special equipment would enable the 670 to transmit to wireless headphones?

Hi David,

the DGX-670 can only play external audio (e.g. from a smartphone) via Bluetooth (BT). But you cannot transmit the DGX -670 audio output via BT (e.g. to BT headphones).

As I just said in another thread, you have to use an external wireless transmitter that is connected to the PHONES/OUTPUT jack of the DGX-670.

Note: Digital wireless audio systems (e.g. Bluetooth) can have a relatively high latency (delay) so that playing live is practically impossible. The latency should be less than 10 ms (milliseconds).

Best regards,
Chris
