Title: Drums parts seperate
Post by: phils_79 on Aug 11, 2020, 05:41 AM
Hi Friends,

I would like to use my PSR drum styles to record in my Cubase daw, in midi notes, but I want the drum parts to be seperated on different tracks. Each drum part seperatly, e.g bass drum on its own track

How can I achieve this? I would like to record the style pattern and route it to a vst drum. Groove agent eg.

Looking forward to some expert advise.

Phil

Hi Phil,

if you should have only one Track (that contains all MIDI channels) after importing an SMF0 MIDI file into Cubase, you have to use the "Dissolve Part" function to get a separate Track for each MIDI Channel.

To separate each Drum Channel (Ch 9 and 10 if you have used a Style to make the MIDI file) into separate Tracks for each Drum Instrument use "Dissolve Part" function again, but select "By Pitch".

Best regards,
Chris
