I struggle with EQ on my Tyros. The sound is very muddy on my PA systems, just a lot of bassy boom boon, and the lead instruments are not heard clearly. I tried the preset EQ, such as flat, live and powerful. The problem is that I don't hear any difference! That can't be right. For instance, the Flat setting should give less bass and more treble, but I hear no difference.
Any help appreciated, as I am having a gig soon, and would like to use my Tyros for this one.
Edit: I have set the keyboard om PA system, no help. The PA system is the Bose 1 Pro and the Bose L1 Compact.
I use the jack channel, that has no bass/treble settings. Too bad.
I don't remember if the Tyros has multiple outputs, but be sure you are coming from the L and R, or the L/R output, and not a sub out. Just a guess . . .
I suspect you're using the wrong outputs.
To be sure, listen to the sound output through a set of headphones.
If that's okay, then I'm right.
An alternative test would be to use a split lead of ONE stereo jack plug going to TWO mono jack plugs.
Plug the stereo one into the headphones output, then the mono ones to you L & R amp inputs.
If the sound is not exactly what you're hearing with the headphones, then it's not the Tyros, it's your PA.

My Keyboard I always set to flat and then use the separate Mixer I have with the speakers to set up the sound for a venue.

I always now use headphone out with a simple, single stereo lead and change the speaker switch over so my on-board speakers stay on.
Ironically i seem to get a more pure sound and it is so simple, i was forever wondering which was the best option.
For me it's an easy fix....and sounds great

I use the headphone out socket for an in-ear or backward-facing monitor because I can us the volume knob for onstage volume control.
That way you can use the Aux out sockets to the PA.

Not on the Tyros, Toril.
All headphone outputs nowadays are limited to a certain Db because if it's too loud, it could damage your hearing.
But if you're using the headphone socket to drive a monitor system, (such as a Yamaha Stagepass) there's plenty of power coming out of the headphone socket anyway.
Short answer is if the headphone socket is going into a mixing desk, a 250,000-watt concert PA system even a small one, then the preamplifier will boost the sound (theoretically) to blow the damn roof off whatever gig you're playing.
The output on the headphone socket is pretty strong, Toril, but I'm just a muso, not a roadie! ;-)

Thanks Norm :) I was trying to use some light headphones at the same time as using a PA system, to better monitor my playing. But to hear the sound in the headphones while playing I had to turn the master volume to full, and then the PA got too load. I can solve this by using headphones with volume controls on them, but chose to use a monitor instead. So I got a Bose S1 Pro in addition to my bigger Bose L1 Compact. Party on Thursday. Will see how it goes! I daisy chain the two speakers with an audio cable. Soundcheck at home, neighbours probably not happy, I live in an apartment house :)
