Registration display on PSR-740

I just bought a second-hand PSR-740 in very good condition. Years ago I used to have a PSR-640 which I used extensively and then sold. I remember that in the 640 you selected a registration bank and a registration within a bank and there was an indicator (forgot what exactly) for the bank/registration that reminded you what was active.

The PSR-740 lets you select the bank and then the registration within the bank. For a few seconds, there is a number (1-4) that "floats out" indicating the particular registration within the bank. After that, I can't find a way to display what the bank/registration you presently have.

Is this the way it is? Am I missing something? Is there a problem with this particular keyboard? Is there supposed  to be a way of displaying the bank/registration value?
