Sites Under Attack? [Solved!]

Been having slow page loads and responses here at PSR for a couple of days now.  This morning the "other" site that some defected to from here (otherwise known as the Lonely Old Men's Chat Board) is also in trouble.  Could it be the same actors are targeting both sites, and if so, why?  Just wondering.....
