Dear Mark,

welcome to the Forum.

I own a beautiful CVP309 in polished ebony, and aa Genos. They are very different instruments, although sharing many common features. I play both with great pleasure. The Cvp 309 PE is quite old (2005!!!), but still perfect, and its sound system is very special jewel, powerful and warm.

When I started with Cvp I was lucky to discover this Forum, where I learned tremendously more than what you may get from owner manuals. I was coming from 20 years of Korg arrangers, and the Yamaha world was totally new to me. The Forum made much easier and faster the change from Korg to Yamaha.
Keep in mind that the logical structure of Cvp is exactly the same of all Yamaha arrangers. Therefore 99,99% of what is posted here applies perfectly (or with minor adjustments) to Cvp.

If you look for more Styles, you will find thousands on the Styles Section of PSRTutorial. Here is the link:

Finally, let me show you a few samples of what Cvp can do, even with a mediocre player as I am:

I'm sure you'll enjoy a lot your Clavinova  ;D
