duplicating SX900 voices on the SX700

Hi folks. I'm a new user here so please forgive me if this question has already been answered. In a nutshell, I'm trying to figure out how to make sure my new SX700 has all the same voices as my old SX900. I bought the 700 to be used as a backup/hot spare for the 900. I succeeded in getting all my registrations transferred over, but as you might guess, some of the songs don't sound quite like the originals because the 700 doesn't have all the same voices as the 900.

I've been searching to see if there's an expansion pack out there that simply contains all the SX900 standard voices, but all I'm finding are custom designed style packs, international add-ons, etc. I understand that I can't simply copy/paste voices from the 900 to the 700, and I do have the YEM installed in case I can find the right expansion pack, but I don't know where to go from here, nor even whether this problem is solvable.

thanks for any wisdom you can offer.

You cannot copy voices from one keyboard to another.

If you want a backup instrument, your best bet is a duplicate of your original.

thanks Fred. I do understand that I can't copy voice files from one instrument to another, but my real question is whether there is a source out there of all the voices that come standard on the SX900, so that I could create or download an expansion pack and use YEM to install the missing voices to my SX700.

Short answer - no, there is no such expansion pack available. Yamaha want you to buy the SX900 if you need the SX900 voices.
