Do you think it's worth downloading the SX920 styles for the SX900?
How useful would they be and where can I download them?

There are probably not that many styles on the 920 that are not already the same or very close to the same as a style already on the 900. There will always be a few that are new or improved, but you would be loading an awful lot of styles just to find that few  — and can you find them? That takes a lot of time and effort. And even if you did find a few, realistically, will it improve your playing, or enjoyment?

The fact is that there are enough generic styles on either of these arrangers to cover 99% of what you ever will play, unless you want a very customized style, in which case you won't find it on the keyboard anyway. And a further truth is that we all end up using a relatively small number of favorite styles.
So my advice is to only bother to download a style when you hear one you really like, and that you feel will fit a song you have in mind.

But what I say will probably not stop you - because Style acquisition/ hoarding is an obsession and occupational hazard for arranger owners!
We all do it until we realize it's like hoarding screws, it gets so hard to find the right one when we need it among the thousands you have hoarded, that you just go out and buy new ones!

I don't collect a thousand styles, I'm just curious about the newer styles that aren't on the SX900.
I've had several Yamaha instruments and they usually had unique styles that were only included with that instrument.
For example, the Beguine style, which is one of my favorites, was arranged differently on almost every model.
The Tyros 2 was the best here. Often, you can only find one similar style for a given song on the instrument,
but in those cases, I try to buy the one that was made specifically for it.

You might start with using these reworked Genos 2 styles:

I have already reworked them to use in my old PSR-S950 keyboard. They will work just fine in your SX900.

Plus I have reworked a bunch of other expansion packs: Romance Latino, the Genos Superior Pack, Ballroom pack, Alpen pack, Choir and Vocals pack, New Latin Worship pack, Chinese Pop Hit pack, Salsa pack and the Kolaborasi Nasantara Pack.

I have also reworked the Genos 2 "NEW Entertainer 2025" pack to work in my PSR-SX920 keyboard and these styles might work as well in your SX900 keyboard.

Plus even more are posted there for you to try out.
Cheers

That's really my point. How do you find what is different. You have to plough through hundreds of styles and their variations, and maybe intros, for each machine, listening and comparing them. And to get true comparisons you might have to tweak the styles for differences in settings, voices etc. And as you say you can't go by names because they sometimes change styles but use the same name and sometimes use the same name but change the styles! And of course there are also intros and endings which might be important to you.
You have to individually listen, compare, decide ....and that's an awful lot of time. I've never found that to be worth the effort.  Unless you think that someone here has already done that, reduced it to list of what's different and new, and can just tell you.....which I doubt.

Nah, I have been doing it since owning my PSR-2000 keyboard. With every new PSR, Tyros, Genos, CVP that comes out I review each style with a different different/new name (I may not catch all the different intros). I generally update to the newest named style if it works in my keyboard as is and delete the older version.

I have so many great sounding styles which allows me to create my own custom song styles by using style pieces from all of them.  ;)

I checked and the collection is 1542 different Yamaha styles plus 11 style expansion packs that I have reworked that require no installation. I have everything on one usb stick for easy access.
