I own an sx700 , I see people on YouTube who say they are playing just using the style with the preset OTS settings and it sounds perfect. When I try to play like this the instrument volumes are often too loud or too quiet and I have to make lots of adjustments when all I want to do is just play the Guests are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login this the same with the Genos or sx920 or is it something I am doing wrong?

This is the same with all the models. In my opinion the newer the model, the worse it is! So yes, the only way to get it right is to adjust the volumes and save the style as a new style. Or use registrations.

I am a bit confused here. Preset styles and OTS are separate things. OTS sets only the voice selection you are going to play. It has nothing to do with voice settings in the style. It's not clear whether the OP is saying the voices selected by OTS are incorrect volume or voices in the preset style are out of balance.
If it is the former saving as a new style does nothing. OTS settings can always be saved quite separately from the style.

It's my understanding the OTS is part of a style. A style can have OTS or not, but the OTS doesn't exist outside of a style. It did in the PSR9000 (I think) but not in the newer models.
So if changes are made to the OTS they need to be saved within the style (or as a registration) as Toril describes, or the changes are lost.

I do have some saved registration banks of OTS voices taken from different styles,I only tick voice when saving the registration.I use them for styles with missing voices I downloaded. I just wish that for. example pianos, electric pianos and acoustic guitars had higher volumes without adjustment.

Mike: Since the heading is OTS, I assumed the OP meant volume of OTS in styles. I often have to adjust those, they tend to be too low or too high, mostly too low.

Mike,

OTS is part of a style in most every keyboard, and cannot be saved separately by the keyboard.

Cheers,

Hello,

I don't know if my answer will be of any interest, but I'll explain it anyway.

Each style includes 4 variations.

Each variation is associated with an OTS.

Within each OTS, the 4 voices can be grouped, namely the 3 right and the left.

The voices are interchangeable, and each can be configured for volume, reverb, effects ... etc...

It's important to memorize the changes made as you go along, either in the style itself or in a registration.

The preset styles have been universally configured by technicians from the various brands.

Those posted online sometimes result from personal modifications, and it's up to each individual to adapt them according to their own feelings.

Finally, don't rely entirely on what people say in their YouTube videos; instead, trust professional demonstrators.

Have a nice day.
