I would like to know the forum's opinion regarding the following question: what is the best option; to choose to connect the specific audio kit with subwoofer to the Genos2 or to connect the Genos to two active Yamaha speakers, model HS 7.
Thank you.
Augusto

Dear Augusto,

with my Genos I use a pair oh Yamaha HS8 powered monitors. Comparing with HS7, you would get deeper low frequencies, and wouldn't need at all a subwoofer.
I own a good mixer, but I don't use it, simply connecting the outputs of Genos directly to the HS8, in order to obtain a very clean sound reproduction.

HS8 sound quality is excellent, with a very good quality/price ratio.

I would recommend to put them on stands to make them stay at the same level of your hears.

Ciao

I use an old pair of Genelec 8040 speakers that I've had for years and the sound is noticeably better than the GNS01 speaker system.

I have two Bose L1 Compacts. I started out with one and shortly after got a second one to sound  better for stereo instruments like the piano.

Speakers are such a personal choice that other peoples opinions may not help you. It's like asking what's the best color to paint your living room.
Both the speakers you mention have nice sound, but choice is overwhelming and preferences depend on personal taste, budget, your environment, expectations....You really have to do your own research ...ie listen.
If you are an audiophile that wants the technical best you may love Genelec, but be prepared to spend mega bucks. If you are space or budget limited, there are loads of small but decent quality powered monitors at a wide range of prices. It's about what is good enough for you.
