dgx-650 stops recording and reports "drive is busy"

Some years ago I had a problem wherein the recording mechanism on my dgx-650 would stop about 60 to 90 seconds into a song.  At the time it seemed solved when I putchased a 16 GB usb stick.

Now the same thing is happening.  I have ordered a stick with 64 GB capacity but wonder if there is anything else that will eradicate this issue. I have formatted the 15 GB stick both using the keyboard and using windows explorer but that doesnot seem to fix anything.

Any ideas?

Are you by any chance also connected to Audacity?  I get that sometimes when recording to that app as it has it's own "concept" of what "drive" is. I think it is a great app but the frequent updates to both it and windows sometimes mean you have to reconfigure what you thought was good settings.  Have not had that issue with the DGX itself.

I use Audacity but that's after I take the USB stick from the 650 and plug it into my PC.

That's just the usb slowing down over time, nothing to do with capacity. In fact, the current draw on some 64GB is too high for the DGX's, so I have a spare 32gb stick just for working on DGX670/PSRsx600

There's a reason I have so many usb sticks
