I am beginning to investigate my old e413 and I'm trying a very early suggestion from the manual, setting up an arpeggio.  I am trying to use the arpeggio function with my left hand and then play a melody with my right.  The arpeggio function takes over the whole keyboard and won't let me play an independent melody with my right hand.  Can someone advise me how I achieve this?  Thank you.

I took a look at the manual for the PSR-E413 online, and unfortunately, this may not be possible on that model, as it said the arpeggio function cannot be used with the split voice.  They must have added that function later, as on my keyboard, the PSR-E433, if you have the arpeggio function on and then turn on the split keyboard mode, then the arpeggio will apply to the split voice.  But, to double check it, you can try that -- turn on split mode with the arpeggio function engaged, and then see if the arpeggio will work on the left-hand side of the split keyboard while allowing a melody to be played on the right-hand side.

If this doesn't work, then it looks like the function is not available on the E413, unless someone else wants to add something that I may be missing.

I cannot apply the arpeggio function to the left side of the split on my E373 which is a much newer model than the E413.

Strangely, even on my SX900 I cannot apply the arpeggio to the left hand voice, it only applies to the right hand voice. You would think on a pro arranger you would be able to play an arp using the left hand voice as a sort of rhythm backing and have the right voice available for melody....

I don't think you can do this on *any* of the arrangers, including Genos.

That's crazy!  I double checked it, and yes, my PSR-E433 has this capability, though I hardly ever use it.  I'll have to check to see which keyboard started including this feature (in other words, was it included on the E423 or not), and if it's still available on the E473.  Strange that the SX900 and possibly even Genos can't do this.

The way around this of course on SX/Genos is to make an arpeggio as a multipad, or find a multipad that has an arp you like. Or create one as a style part. I find that recording my own arps is not that easy to do.
