Hi all, when trying to pair my new Genos2 with my Bose my understanding is once I press "Pairing" on the Genos2 it should give me a list of bluetooth devices, and it does not.

I have no trouble connecting my phone or ipad to the Bose, but the Genos2 doesn't want to connect.  Any ideas?  I do keep my Bose software updated.  Maybe I need to do a factory reset on the new Genos2??

thanks very much for any suggestions.

I think that the Genos and Genos2 only support MIDI over Bluetooth, not audio.

Hi Genos just receive bluetooth from devices like a tablette, a smartphone but can't transmit bluetooth signal; Bose is the same just receive bluetooth signal! All the best Patrick

Bluetooth speakers and headphones will not work properly with Genos 1 or 2. There is a latency problem.

The simplest way to connect your Bose headphones to your Genos 2 is with the special cable supplied with your headphones. You will need to buy a 1/4inch jack to 3.5mm mini jack connector if you don't already have one.  I have Bose Quiet Comfort II headphones connected in this way. There may an an issue if you choose to stand-up to play as the Bose supplied cable is very short.

You cannot pair speakers or headphones with your Genos or PSR via Bluetooth. It is not possible because it does not make sense. The reason is the time delay (latency) when transmitting via Bluetooth. This means that there is too long a delay between pressing the key on the keyboard and hearing the sound with the Bluetooth device.

Yup, 100% what Kurt said. There is *no* instrument in the world with bluetooth *out* (headphones, external speakers) because it's just too slow (bluetooth typically has a bandwith of 2.4Megbits /sec (300kbps); you don't notice the 1 second delay streaming *in* because you're not actively playing every note. But streaming out, imagine pressing a key and not hearing it for nearly 1 second (this is basically how they test for deafness).

There is such a thing as wifi out though (much larger bandwidth); you can get wifi (or even infrared headphones); and using the UDWL01, you can even send audio into wifi devices (such as your phone or tablet), but not via bluetooth.

You can also use UHF transmitter receivers (same tech as wireless mics)
