My old username was Muzic Trax and forgot my password & email I used to sign up waaaay back when. I used to have the Tyros 1.

I am out of date on what is the latest and greatest from Yamaha. Right now, I am using Band in a Box to make music with. I have recently did a studio makeover with an L shaped desk.

I'm looking for a 61 key keyboard to fit on top my desk.

What is the best Yamaha 61 key keyboard I can buy for $300 or less and I don't mind buying used either. Most of the sounds I use now are the Real Tracks from Biab, but you just can't beat some of the Yamaha Styles.

Something with easy midi connection is also what I'm looking for.

I appreciate any suggestions because I know you know what you're talking about when it comes to anything Yamaha.

Thanks!

Hi Edmo, there's a lot of us (old) new members about again... welcome back.

I don't know what you'll get, but there should be quite a few options. I read that people like Reverb and Sweetwater for buying used, maybe see what's offered and ask about them here. Don't go too old, you'll want to take advantage of the SFF2 styles, your Tyros 1 used the older SFF1 type. Newer keyboards from Tyros2, PSR910 use both types so don't go older than these if you want to take advantage of styles. But you might already be aware of all this.

I used to play with BIAB, mostly for notation. Does it still use that cartoony type font? Crazy program, did everything and was great fun.

Yes, their GUI has improved, as well as their features. You can now use notation for the Real Tracks. They will now follow any type or notation edits or hand entered.
Thanks for the info, I will check out both sites.
