How do I show notes I play?

Hi. Can anyone help me so that my PSR-775 will display the notes I play on a note sheet way?

Asking AI and looking in the manual the closest I got was the "SCORE" view that shows notes from a song, but doesn't show the notes I'm playing. AI says "you may need to (...) be in performance mode for the Score display to show the notes effectively", but I don't know how to get in this mode.

That's the problem AI isn't actually intelligent; it'll usually be grammatically correct, but not necessarily truthful in any way.

You can bring up what *chord* you're playing, but to show individual notes without recording them? Only the junior PSR's did this; and these had no timing, just a note on/off. On an s970, you'll have to press Rec and then play and then stop to see the notes you just played.

I believe there's software that can score as you play though (Finale? Sibelius?)

I don't know about the keyboard showing what you're playing live, as you continue playing. So maybe  you want to get a score from your played music.

Some notation programs will record as you play, and you can edit the result to have either a score or lead sheet with chords. But not all that record will produce notation. But you can play the saved midi files back in the keyboard and see the score. You might have to go through the track options to get the track(s) you want to show. If it doesn't show chords and you want the symbols you can add them using XGWorks. There's a link for the program on this site, a search will find it.
Look at MuseScore, see if that might do what you want.

A couple of options, I hope something suits what you want to achieve.

Finale will display notes as you play if you're willing to go through the setup issues.

I think your best bet is to record the song, then look at the score on playback.
