Flashback to the 80's with the original DJX (blue keyboard). Unlike the DJX-II, it actually has MIDI OUT.  I use it to record my keyboard noodling in a DAW, in this case Logic ProX. I often change the STYLE as I go along with just a single button-press.  My problem is, that the DAW doesn't seem to recognize this change.  The keystrokes are all faithfully recorded, but the DAW doesn't change the style when it plays back, and the recording sounds terrible.  So, does anyone know if there is a MIDI change command that the DJX can receive so that the style is selected as a result?
Thanks, listeners!

There are many computer programmers and people with expertise in this area on this forum.
I have a basic grasp of these things but I'll have a go at helping you.  I don't know your keyboard or DAW. If my suggestions are rubbish they may be pointed out by the experts with reasons given and you may get your answer.
Suggestions
1.   Rather than change styles on the fly (unless you are in performance) why not record separately and stitch them together in your DAW?
2.   If you do this , is there still a problem on playback? Is it with Polyphony, BPM etc? Describe "terrible".
3.   If your DAW has a LIST function (Inspector?) load your recorded MIDI , and LIST what is happening
4.   At the top of that list are the settings for the data. This is where your keyboard settings are recognised, let's call it a "header"
5.   Now playback and watch the list, listen and see what is happening when you change styles
6.   Are there are any  "Messages" listed that show the old style has been switched off and the new style started with similar information to the header
7.   Or can you list all the Sysex messages?

You could also try using the excellent MixMaster for steps  2-7.

Alternatively, here are links to some manuals and MIDI specs

Reddit has lots of people asking similar questions about MIDI and their own legacy keyboards.

Let us know if this has helped you solve the problem.
