I must be overlooking something.  I can add and delete files in DGX670, but I can't get the DGX to highlight any folders so I can delete one.  I can highlight files but not folders.????

Hi @JCGHRA,

On Yamaha keyboards, it always works like this:

When you select a FILE in a File Selection display (e.g. in the Registration Bank Selection display), this file is LOADED. When you select a FOLDER, this folder is OPENED (so you can see the files and folders it contains).

To delete a folder, FIRST press the "File" button, THEN select the desired folder (make sure that no other folders/files are selected), and finally press  "Delete".

Please also read the "File Management" section in the DGX-670's Owner's Manual (from page 26) for more information.

By the way, please keep in mind that all File Selection displays only display certain file types. This means that if you open a folder on the USB stick on the keyboard e.g in the Registration Bank Selection display, only Registration Bank files (.rgt) will be displayed. If this folder also contains other file types such as Style files, these would not be displayed on the keyboard (but would of course also be deleted if the folder was deleted).

So be careful if you want to delete folders on a USB stick from the keyboard. Only do this if you are absolutely sure that there are no other files in this folder that you still need. To be on the safe side, connect the stick to the computer and delete folders from there.

For the sake of completeness, the problem last described for USB sticks ("invisible" files in a folder) cannot occur in the internal User drive because the User drive has a fixed main folder structure defined by the system.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Thanks Chris.  I resolved the problem by deleting this Bank folder (it was empty) from the USB drive on my PC.  I still don't understand why I couldn't delete it in DGX; I can usually delete any simple file or folder in DGX Bank which is stored on my USB drive.  I save all my RGT files onto my USB drive, and then back them up onto the PC.
You were helpful in your suggestions.  It should be noted that DGX was unable to select this particular folder; it selects other folders in the Bank, but not this one (which I somehow created it by mistake...perhaps it was damaged somehow).
