Hello everyone and good music. My post is addressed to the great "Jørgen Sørensen" who I see registered here to ask him if this utility will be updated to support the new Megavoices and if possible support styles rather than just songs. Thank you.

Hi
In my latest newsletter at Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login I wrote:
"My mediocre abilities as a performer on the keyboard cannot justify a - for a pensioner - large investment in the latest keyboard models.
This has meant, among other things, that I cannot develop new software to support the new models' new features, and that I cannot update my current software 100%, as I do not have the latest keyboard models to test on."

In this case, I cannot create a voice substitution model from a given Mega voice to an appropriate "standard" voice without the newest keyboard.

Thanks for the reply.. theoretically the MegaVoice specifications have remained unchanged to find out which new voices have been implemented it would be enough to refer to the PDF downloadable from here Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login. At this point I ask you, could you make the sources public in order to allow those who know how to program to update the software. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, in practice? They change from voice to voice. If you analyze the megavoice data, even just from the first generation (T1/CVP309), you'll see huge differences in the way the velocity layers are coded; 12 string megavoice for example is actually playable as a live voice, whereas Steel guitar and HiStringGuitar are completely different velocity layer mappings.

In other words, there's no "one size fits all" for megavoice; there never has been. It's true that they reuse *some* of the velocity layer mappings, but unless you (or someone) is willing to send Jorgen a Genos 2 and an sx920, there's no real way for him to ensure the mappings are the same; you can try (trial & error) as he's suggested using his megavoice cleaner as is, but without him having the keyboards on hand, there's no way to ensure which voices will work with which 'cleaning envelope'.

Yes, I have all the new keyboards on hand (I work retail) but it would be extremely slow and tedious to send him where the layers change and velocity descriptions, and then have him make alterations to code, email back and forth. You're right, open source code, maybe *somebody* who's still coding with a G2 and someone coding who owns an sx920, that *could* work. But it's his code, so it's his call :1

And as for coding, I haven't touched a C compiler in just over 20 years now, so I can't do it. But ideally you want someone to undertake a task like this who has the experience coding, the time to code, and a G2;which now has 41 megavoice basses vs 15 on G1)! G2 has 12 megavoice brass vs 4 on G1.... etc
