Hello.
Not sure if I am in the correct place for this, but here goes.
I would like to make my Genus sound like a Cathedral Organ for certain pieces. The Organ section of the Presets does not appear to contain such an instrument and I do not have the ability to alter an existing sound.
Does anyone know of or have a registration (or Style) which sounds like a Cathedral Organ that they could point me towards.
Thanks in advance,
Den

I don't have a Genos but my CVP has a few pipe organ sounds that seem pretty good. The Pipe Organ Tutti for example. I am sure the Genos must have them or something at least equivalent.
But your lack of authentic sound might be less the voice and more how it is played. You have to remember a cathedral organ has bass pedals and is being played with feet and both hands. You are never going to get that sound using it like a typical arranger ie lh accompaniment and rh single notes. You can get something close using both hands, big doubled up bass lines and nice rh chords, especially the sus chord progressions much loved by church organ players.

Many thanks for the replies.
It does appear that the Genos is somewhat lacking in this particular department.
I have tried the Pipe Organ Tutti as suggested and it will certainly do for now.
I do understand the difference in playing a "Keyboard" as opposed to a "Full Organ" having played many of them over the last four decades, but sometimes compromises have to be made, the modern day arranger keyboards are fantastic instruments.
Thanks again.

Some pipe organs can be found in expansion packs, at first sight in those named like "Church Organ", "Orgue Classique" or "Grand Orgue".
You can install them one after another using ppi files to check them but you'll need an computer with Yamaha Expansion Manager (YEM) to install them all at the same time into your Genos.

Or you can try layering voices, select say GrandJeu for right1 part and FondsEtAnches for right2 part. If something is still missing in such layered sound you can add third voice yet.
You can easily shift voices by octave(s) up or down against each other too to get richer sound: at selecting voice press Menu on display (top right corner) -> Voice Setting -> Tune and in the octave row you can try how it sounds with different octave shifts.
And some voices are "hidden" in the legacy folder too, at selecting voice press the bent arrow pointing up in right bottom corner, press P2 (page 2), Legacy folder, Organ folder, P4-P6
