Although the main discussion is shifting in a different direction, I want to take a moment to provide an update.

A few months ago, I had an email exchange with Gary (travlin-easy), during which he shared that he was facing health challenges and was in hospice care. He also mentioned that he had passed on all of his equipment to a longtime friend.

I will make another attempt to reach out to him via email and will provide any updates if I receive a response.

Best regards,
Alex

My health problems have worsened, I have developed a serious UTI, and my left ureter is being held open with a temporary stent. The stent must be surgically removed, which is dangerous due to my lousy lungs.

Yes, I gave all my equipment to an old friend in Texas who gave it to his granddaughter, who loves playing.

I  dearly miss my S950, and if anyone on the forum has one for sale, please email me.

I am still doing some woodworking projects and currently working on 3 end tables and 2 clocks. The results have been incredible.

Thanks for thinking of me, everyone, and I will try to be more active in the future.

All the best,

Gary

This maybe off topic

I have been around PSR keyboards for years . i am impressed with the evolution of the operating system but ....
The Registration concept / rules for managing resouces ( styles,pads,midi,mp3,text, and specific song settings) is a frustration. Everthing is great until to move / change something.

Now that on board memory and USB memory has become less expensive, is there not a better way to approach Registration ?

Is it possble ? TO create a Song and save that Registration and all resources neeeded to play that Song to one file folder so everthing is in one place. That means it would independant of the keyboard resources storage becauses things are duplicated in th Song File Folder.

I am Interested in your thoughts .

Quote from: Fred Smith on Jan 21, 2025, 06:29 AMI get my registrations to turn the page. You can easily have a midi file memorized in a registration which sends the same message. That way registrations do all the work, and I can concentrate on the playing.

Cheers,
Fred

I've been trying to figure out how to use registration buttons to turn Mobile Sheets pages.
Could you or someone explain how please?
Thanks

I just started using MobileSheets with my SX720. I noticed in the Setup there was a place that said use the Joystick (for something) and decided it would be a good page turner. So I messed with midi settings and it did turn the page forward for me. I started with a 3 or 4 page piece, got to the end of p2, hit the joystick and the page turned. Nice. But once I opened a longer piece I found the issue, it turns to the last page only, skipping all in that's between the first and last page.

I asked about it on the forum and it was explained that the joystick wasn't intended to be used this way (I think he was quite surprised it even did that much) it's intended to work with a separate program. He explained MS page turning needs a keystroke and the keyboard can't provide that. I've since got a bluetooth page turner and it works a treat, forward and back.

Maybe you could attach each page to a registration number though, I didn't try it.

Gary, wishing the best for you.

LaHawk, well, if you set one of the 2 pedals to registration, the *other* pedal can be set to page turn (score page+) of a built in midi score. But since I don't use sheetmusic, I don't know about turning mobile sheets pages; I do know there's bluetooth page turners, out there; so I'd consider buying one of those if nobody can think of how to send a page turn to mobilesheets pageturn message

Nova, already replied to you on your *original* post.

That's interesting. Joystick as a page turner :)

The only way I found to link registration buttons to "turn" pages within a Mobile Sheet song is to separate each page into it's own song.
Example of a two page song:
Page 1 would be a song called "The Last Waltz 1"
Page 2 would be a new song called "The Last Waltz 2"
Two pages but two separate songs.
Press Reg 1 and it calls up The Last Waltz 1 song link (Page 1)
Press Reg 2 and it it calls up Last Waltz 2 song link (Page2)
Not perfect, but for me clicking a registration button is easier than fumbling with a Bluetooth pedal

BTW, I talked to Gary about two weeks ago on a phone call. He's hanging in there, in good spirits and thanks everyone for the well wishes.
Maybe this thread should be modified and separated into two different subjects? Just a thought

Regarding Mobilesheets and foot pedals, I use a keyboard foot pedal to change the page on MobileSheets.  Since I mostly play Organ, I never really use the Sustain pedal, so I have Mobilesheets watch for a sustain message, and to turn to the next page when it gets one.  I then set the pages up in MobileSheets so that I only have to page forward, and not go back.  Ie.  Pages 1,2,3,2,3,4,5.

I think you could use sostenuto, or maybe some other midi message that can be assigned to the foot pedal, that Mobilesheets can read.

Any my best wishes to Gary.  I hope that you get over the UTI and feel better soon!
