Hi all

I purchased a new Genos 2 and so far loving it. It came with a music stand but I can't seem to connect it. Upon investigation, it seems like I need an adapter? But my question is, is it supposed to come with one or is it separate? It is weird of Yamaha to supply a music stand without the adapter.....

It should've come with 2 adapters, which look something like European electrical power plugs.

These adapters can be purchased separately.  They cost roughly $25-30 each (Canadian).  There are also third party adapters that are primarily created to either bring the stand closer to the player or adapt the angle of the stand when used on multi-tier stands. You should be able to order the original adapters from a Yamaha keyboard dealer or maybe eBay or Etsy for the third party adapters. They are small and easily misplaced.

The same stand adapters are used on both the Genos and the Genos 2. I believe the Tyros uses a different adapter.

Check carefully your Genos 2 keyboard box.  The adapters are quite small and were originally packaged in a white foam wrapping in the original box.

If the adapters were not included, I would complain to my dealer because the delivery was incomplete.

I purchased the 3rd party adapter to bring the music closer to my eyes. They do work but they don't seem to fit quite as well as the standard adapters and they seem a somewhat less sturdy. However, I've had mine for around 3 years and they are still doing the job although one of them is a little fragile and doesn't fit as well as the other. They do shorten the distance perhaps around 2+ inches or so.
