Hi all, the way I understand the Midi File to Yamaha Style software is as follows. Load MF to software use automatic conversion save to USB Stick. Insert USB stick to keyboard and then use the style as I would all other files, each with intro and ending. What I am getting when I press a key to start the song is jumbled up sounds, nothing like the original MF. Any help would be great TIA.

The Easy method didn't give me a good result either, and most reports are the same. But Casper has done a few YouTube tutorials that might help get better results.

I have followed to YouTube vids but to no avail, I have read many posts where people just cannot get it to work, why would Yamaha put something out there that does not work as it should.

@aprilla thanks for linking the Playlist

@shezza - The styles I got from MIDI Song to Style sound great to me. Did you even watch the video that @aprilla suggested?

Sheeza:
I'm still learning but from what I understand so far...
One problem is that there are many section parameters that you often need to change to get the correct conversion.
Another is that parts/sections may be incorrect, affecting NNT and NTR settings.

This video should help you:

Also check the Appendix of the Midi Song to Style manual.
Hope this helos.

Casper:
In your YT (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90vOK7QGJeM&ab_channel=CaspertutorSynth) you used a comparatively simple song but you still had to adjust\correct some parameters. In my experience, the output of the "Easy" conversion process in the MidiSongtoStyle always needs some tweaking.

Midi files vary. Some midi files do work with the Easy method, but many need to be worked on further in the Edit method, which is why it's provided. If the Easy method doesn't work go into the Edit area and with the information from Casper's tutorials (or other, find what suits you) you should get a better result. But not all midi files will convert nicely, they vary.

Even some nice style files need a bit of tweaking sometimes, we each like what we like. So it's really no surprise that a midi to style conversion would also need some effort.
