MultiPads in Registration Sequence

I'm playing with the Registration Sequence feature and it's working, but I want to use a multipad in Reg 3 and it's not behaving (I obviously don't know how to set it up).

No multipad in Reg 1 or 2. I set the pad to synchro start, the orange light is flashing, and save in Reg 3. I have no multipad on when I save Reg 4. Then I save the bank.

When playing through the Registrations, when I reach #3 the multipad plays but stays on through Reg 4 though I don't intend it should.

Is there somewhere I can learn how to control the multipads in registrations, or find out what I/they can and can't do?
