I miss the instrument voices from my sold, psr 3000. I traded it and some cash for the sx900 so that we could gig with backing tracks and vocal harmonies. Can anyone suggest some downloadable voices that are comparable to those in the 3000. Also if there is a 3000 out there for sales, I'm interested.

Also, can anyone explain the vocoder settings that create vocal pitch correction?

Thanks
Frank

Actually, all the voices of the PSR-3000 should be included in the SX-900. You will find most of the old voices in the Legacy folder. So far, I have found all the old voices that I know from my PSR-S900 (direct successor to the PSR-3000) in the SX720. The name of some voices has been changed, but they have kept the same ID (MSB, LSB, PC).

To get to the Legacy folder, select any voice category (e.g. Piano), then go one level higher with [Up], then to the second page and here you will see the Legacy folder.

Yes, all the PSR3000 voices are on your keyboard (as they are still even on my new SX920).

If you want your old PSR-3000 styles they can be downloaded from this page.

https://psrtutorial.com/sty/yamaha/psr-3000.html

You can download them by clicking on each category NAME (Ballad, Ballroom, Country ... etc).

Put the styles onto a USB stick and PRESTO ... you got your old PSR-3000 back.

Hey Drake,
Thanks a lot. I'll never learn everything about this keyboard and I'm afraid to experiment for fear of losing presets.

Once I down load the styles to usb, how do I access them once plugged into the 900?

Thanks Kurt! Man, I still think the voices and styles are better on the 3000

So far I haven't noticed any difference in the sound of the "old" voices between the SX720 and my S900. However, only after I turned off the compressor on the SX720 and set the master EQ similarly to the S900.

You just load the style.

Press the style box and navigate to the style on your usb (select drive USB1, select folder if necessary, etc.)

Hi @faddario,

A small "hurdle" for beginners on PSR-SX and Genos models is that in the File Selection displays (e.g. Style Selection display) only the "Preset" and "User" areas are initially shown.

After you have called up the Style Selection display as mentioned by Fred (by touching the name of the currently loaded style), first touch "User" and then "USB1" to see the contents (folders and style files) of the connected USB stick.

Best regards,
Chris
