Favourites is restricted to "X" number of listings?

So here I was going through all the sounds and marking those I wanted as favourites, and before I'd even finished sounds and moved to styles, the OS states favourites were full?

Favourites are surely simply a marker to an existing location, so why is there a restriction on  how many you can have?

I don't actually know how many you can have, however there is little point in having a large number, because it surely defeats the point. Simply call them ALL your favourite. Which is surely an indication of how GOOD all yamaha content is.

Hi @pax-eterna,

Yes, the number of possible Favorite links is definitely limited on Genos and SX models. However, I do not know the exact number per file type, nor do I know the reason for this limitation.

For this purpose, I recommend simply making copies of the relevant Voices / Styles / Multi Pads (e.g. in folders "Fav Voice" / "Fav Style" / "Fav MultiPad" in the User drive or on the USB stick).

By the way, to save a preferred OTS (One Touch Setting) for the RIGHT voices, I memorize it to a Registration (e.g. Reg button #1) and then save this Registration Bank under a meaningful name (e.g. "GrandPiano+Strings"). In this case, it is important that only the "Voice" and "Keyboard Harmony" check boxes are ticked in the MEMORY dialog. This way, when you call up the Registration later, only the RIGHT voices are switched, but not the STYLE, the LEFT voice and other parameters.

Best regards,
Chris

With this, I am doing something wrong I think...I set up the right hand section, and then save it to a new registration. When I load that registration and then press OTS 1 button it comes up with some other setup (probably relating to whatever style is loaded) not the one I created. Do I need to actually save the OTS somewhere as well?
Does the style need to be saved too?

So, would I need to edit the style as the first job and THEN create the OTS and registration files?

Seems the OTS thing is directly linked to styles and not registrations. Again, I am probably missing something here!

Hi @pax-eterna,

OTS on Yamaha keyboards are not designed to be combined with Registrations. I only recommend using OTS if you are not using Registrations. Some users like to have everything (all required settings for a specific song) in the STYLE and therefore use and edit the OTS settings. I (and probably most other users) see the OTS of the Styles more as "suggestions", but use Registrations for all required panel settings.

You can memorize (almost) everything in Registrations, but much less in OTS (for details see the "Parameter Chart" in the Data List manual. With Registrations you can also specify which parameter groups should be memorized, with OTS ALL parameters supported by OTS are always automatically memorized.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Yep, it does actually, thanks!

I think I will start setups going with the flow....just use registrations and avoid OTS until later on when I have a better grasp of how it all comes together:)
