Hi everyone,
There are 6 assignable buttons and 6 shortcuts on the screen of SX900, SX700. I'm wondered how everyone is using them for. Your advice is very appreciated.
Thanks, Ted

Hello!

I've never really liked where Yamaha has put the "harmony" button. My Genos2 and several models before had that button on the right side of the keyboard. I always seem to stumble trying to initiate harmony while playing the right hand melody at the same time. I use assignable button 3 to trigger harmony. It's right near the style control buttons and is easily turned on and off while playing. I haven't assigned any other buttond yet. -charley

Hello again..........

Something odd sometimes happens when I assign harmony to button 3. I can't seem to get deep enough into the harmony settings that actually assigns a specific harmony type. All I am able to save just the harmony initialization, but not the actual harmony type. I hope I'm explaining things correctly. I have no problem assigning a pedal to initiate harmony types. It must be some sort of a "brain fart"!!  Thanks. -charley

Thanks Charley,
I noticed the assignable buttons were preset as: Half bar fill, fade in/out, metronome on/off, score, new song, and Rgt info.
I like the Rgt info, but not the rest.
I'm thinking about using one for harmony.

mine:  I may change them since Tempo can be done without the menu.  I use Chord Looper for most all songs, but not lyrics or score.  I use Linkesoft Songbook for song tabs, and use colored text for each song section to show abbreviated details,  as an example:
 SX-Reg1  VarA CL-1 MP-ST2-2  V-CRV
(registration, Main Variation, Chord Looper#, Multipad Name/#, Vocal Name)

Chord Looper  Voice Part Setup   Live Control   Assignable   Kbd Harm/Arp          Tempo

Sustain      Reg+

Style Creator           Half Bar           Fade In/Out (6 sec)

Split/Fingering      Style Tempo Lock   Metronome
